Great to meet people who understand what you are going through – because they have already been there themselves
EC Belfast
CAUSE Carer Advocates are here to provide you with help tailored to what you need to cope in your care-giving role. A Carer Advocate can meet with you face-to-face at a location convenient for you, or discuss issues with you over the phone.
Carer Advocates are here to listen to you and offer information, practical and emotional support to help you:
- learn about mental illness and treatments
- understand how to navigate services and work with professionals
- access the support you need and know your rights as a carer
- deal with difficult situations and maintain your own resilience
CAUSE also provides a specialist support and advocacy service in Belfast for carers of a loved one with personality disorder. We also provide a dedicated service linked to CAMHS at Beechcroft and Shannon Clinic as well as in the Acute Mental Health Inpatient Centre (AMHIC) in Belfast City hospital.
With help from our professional Carer Advocates, we ultimately want you to feel more confident, supported and empowered.
You can speak to one of our Carer Advocates on our Helpline: 0800 103 28 33 and available the following hours:
Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10am - 4pm
